Scrapbook ideas

7 scrapbooking ideas

Here are 7 scrapbooking ideas you can use the next time you start a new scrapbook.

1. Use quotesEverybody talks a lot and some times they say something worth remembering because it's so funny or wise. These things are perfect to use when scrapbooking, just use the quotation marks and put whatever the personsaid in between the quotation marks. Then add a little curved line (or a straight one) and put the persons nameright there. Children in specific can say such funny things, it's surely worth putting those in scrapbooks.

2. Make a scrapbook about the current seasonFall in particular is a beautiful season that can result in wonderful scrapbooks. But summer, spring and wintercan also trigger some neat scrapbooking ideas.

3. Let your little kid scrapbook as a way of keeping a journalThis is something I see that is happening more and more. People show their children how to scrapbook and let their children know they can scrapbook their life like this as a way of journaling. This is a great way to help your children become even more creative and will produce some beautifulscrapbooks you'll want to save for the rest of your life.

4. Easter egg finding scrapbookWhen your kids go easter egg searching throughout the house you can make take picture of them doing itand you can take pictures of you planting the eggs. That could make for a very funny and lightheartedscrapbook. Scrapbooking ideas like this one can make events like this even more fun (especially for the parents).

5 Consider using woodIf for some reason you're getting bored with the traditional scrapbooks of paper, you can make one out ofwood. You could carve out the objects you want to use or have it carved out for you. You could then go on andpaint the entire thing in beautiful colours.

6 First day of schoolConsider scrapbooking your childs first day of school, especially at kinder garten when you can take picturesand you'll remember that day for the rest of your life, as well as you'll be able to show your children (when theygrow up) their very first day of school.

7. Christmas scrapbookingTake pictures of the christmas tree, the presents and the meals and the kids unwrapping their presents. This will make for a nice little project you can do with your kids and or spouse when the weather is really badafter christmas.Scrapbooking ideas will jump into your mind when you're least expecting it, but when they do. Write them down.

Our stamps

With Close To My Heart products, the stamp is removable!

With Close To My Heart products the stamp is removable. Our products are not like the Stampin Up products. Stampin up stamps are permanently attached to the blocks. Our products, however, are not. You will receive a packet with your stamps in it. They attach to an acrylic block. You blot it on your ink pad, stamp the design, clean the ink off, peel off the stamp and return it to it's package.

How simple is that? Our blocks are clear acrylic so you see the placement when you stamp. NO GUESS WORK! If the design you are stamping, does not stamp well, simply re-ink the design and stamp again. With the clear block and stamp you can see the previous stamped design so you can stamp in the same exact spot and not mess up your artwork.

It's great for layering colors also. You are able to see your artwork and add more detail by placing stamp set designs together to create a whole different look each time.

July News

from Close to My Heart Debra SkipperClose to My Heart Independent Consultant

Dear Friends,

It's hot as heck here in Middle Georgia! This is my absolute favorite season of the year, when some of my best memories are made. Read on for all the news about upcoming events and specials from Close to My Heart!

But first, a personal note:Focusing on What's ImportantWe are living in times when much of our news seems unsettling and even down-right disturbing. The death of so many famous people. People that I grew up singing to their music, watching them on tv. I know I'm telling my age, but it is really sad to know that this world is turning so fast and time does not stand still for anyone. During these times, it's all too easy to focus our attentions on the things that worry us, and not on those things in life which really make us who we are: family and friends, our relationships with them, and the experiences we share. But I believe that these things - the things which make us who we are - are the very same things that will sustain us as individuals, and as a nation.

This month, I'm making a special effort to keep from focusing on the negative and to use at least a part of my energy every day to scrap what's really important. In twenty or thirty years, when my children Jacob and Haley look back, wondering what life was like in late 2008, I don't want their whole perception to be based on the grim news recorded by the media during these times. I want them to also know and to remember that we were a strong family, that we had good friends, that we worked hard for what we believed was right, that we shared worthwhile experiences with each other, and that we were lucky to have been living in the greatest country in the world. It's important to keep our perspective positive, because we create the world we live in and we define our own destiny.

Fall is the time of harvest in our part of the world. Throughout history, and across all world cultures, harvest is that point in the year when people reap what they have sown, and take time to recognize and express gratitude for blessings. It is a natural time to pause and to refocus our attentions.

Will you join me? Make it a priority. Be a journalist. Take some time to record what is really important to you - whether it's the big occasions or the everyday moments. Be an artist. Create something beautiful that you can share with someone, whether it's a scrapbook page for your family album, or a lovely "just because" card to send to a friend who needs a lift. I promise it will change your outlook - and if enough of us change our outlook and focus on what's really important, who knows what we can accomplish?

scrapbooking and card making

I always love receiving homemade cards. It feels my heart with such warmth to know that someone took time out of their busy schedule to make me something so special. That is why I try to make everyone I know a card for some kind of occassion. I usually look for something to make a card for. Whether it's a birthday, get well, thinking of you, or just because you are my friend. Things have really changed in the scrapbooking industry. You can embellish and design just about anything. I love to take a pattern paper and glue it on some card stock and just start stamping some random stuff on some additional card stock and see what turns out. I love buttons and ribbons! There's nothing like buttons and ribbons to really dress up a card or scrapbook page. Take a look at some of these examples!

Scrapbooking for July

This adorable 2 page layout is soooo simple to make. It's the perfect layout for a birthday party.

This layout is 2 pages of the daydreams level 2 packet and the stickease assortment.

This card is also made with the same papers from the daydreams level.

With a few letters and embellishments you have a complete party invitation that is so adorable and cost just pennies to make. A great idea is to keep one of the invitations that you made and attach it to the scrapbook page as a momento of your great work and creativity.
